How to remove a part from existing Magento 2 CMS page layout

If you need to remove any part or a section of a Layout, follow the below steps.

Login to M2 Admin> Go to the content -> pages & select the page you want to layout change > Select Design tab and add in what you want to remove from Layout Update XML
Ex:
<body>
<referenceBlock name=”footer” remove=”true”/>
<referenceBlock name=”header.panel” remove=”true”/>
<referenceBlock name=”catalog.topnav” remove=”true”/>
<referenceBlock name=”breadcrumbs” remove=”true”/>

Please upgrade your database: Run “bin/magento setup:upgrade” from the Magento root directory.

When you try to run Magento 2 and if you get above error,

copy this code

bin/magento setup:upgrade

Go to your Magento 2 root folder.

Open the Git Bash ( I think this will work on command prompt as well )
Paste the code and Enter.

It will execute and once it completed, Run Magento 2.
